Electronics City started out as a vision for the future by R. K. Baliga, who was instrumental in the success of the noted electronics giant, Karnataka Electronics. Electronics City was Baliga's own vision an Indian "Silicone Valley", and it would definitely grow to become worthy of its appellation. Unfortunately, Baliga would not live to see his dream come to fruition, since he died in 1988.
