There are, by the way, more chances to receive gifts for the baby when more cards go out. Baby announcements can have any text the parents want. Certainly, at least the baby's name and birth details should be on the card. Be sure to include information such as weight and the hospital name. Any kind of personal message can be added, as long as it is kept appropriate for the different kinds of people who will receive the card.
